Land speed racing at the famed Bonneville Salt Flats is awesome! It’s one of the purest forms of racing left on the planet. The concept is simple; go as fast as you can with what you got and if you do everything right you might set a record. There’s no fanfare, no victory lap and no payout at these racing events. Many people volunteer countless hours and spend countless dollars in the sport of land speed racing to just be the fastest. Ain’t that what it’s all about?
They say once you catch salt fever that you’ll always have it. I’ve been involved for several years now and have made two trips to land speed racing’s Mecca. I’ll be going back, that’s for sure.
